Quantum Error Correction Course at the University of Alberta

The quest for experimental implementations of quantum error correction (QEC) has led to a critical problem in finding ways to automatically discover codes and encoding strategies tailored to the qubit hardware platform. In this article, we will explore variations on the threshold theorem, including the Simultaneous Discovery of Quantum Error Correction Codes and Encoders with a Noise-Aware Reinforcement Learning Agent by Jan Olle and three other authors.

The project is worth 30% of the grade, with problem sets accounting for the remaining 70%.
